Anti-Aging Skin Care Tips
Skin care treatments are becoming more and more common around the world as people look to reduce the signs of their aging. They are constantly looking for ways to get rid of wrinkles, lines, and sun damage. Some of these methods include injections, skin peels, and creams.
One of the most common treatments is called the MicroPeel. This is a multi-stage process that is designed to remove scars and pigmentation to help reduce the appearance of aging. First, the skin is cleansed; then it is exfoliated. The last stage involves applying frozen carbon dioxide to the skin, which kills off the top layer of skin so that a lower, newer layer is revealed.
The most common type of injection for anti-aging is a Botox injection. Technically, Botox is a poison produced by bacteria that actually causes the food poisoning known as botulism. When injected in small amounts, it temporarily relaxes the facial muscles that cause frown lines and wrinkles. Botox is usually injected in the areas between the eyebrows and bridge of the nose, forehead creases, the corners of the eyes to remove crow’s feet, and in skin bands on the neck. It smooths out these muscles, erasing signs of aging for a period of time.
Collagen injections are one of the most common forms of anti-aging treatment. Collagen is found naturally in the body, usually in connective tissue, and it supports skin, bone, blood vessels, and cartilage. In fact, it makes up about 80% of the skin. When collagen breaks down, that’s when wrinkles and lines start to appear. So, injecting collagen into the skin restores the body’s natural collagen, getting rid of the lines and wrinkles until it breaks down again. There are other types of dermal fillers as well. These procedures take little time to do and are minimally invasive compared to massive surgeries like face lifts.
There is another type of skin treatment called the Sculptra Face Rejuvenation treatment. Known as the “liquid face lift,” this treatment is designed to remove fine lines on the face. A biodegradable material called “poly L-lcactic acid’ is applied to the skin and helps collagen form, which removes sagging skin, and any other skin imperfections. This treatment often requires more than one visit and can last up to two years.
For those who are not interested in any kind of medical procedure, there are other options. Many people turn to skin creams to reverse their aging. These skin creams, no matter the brand, typically have the same natural ingredients in them. Vitamin A is included to reduce the actual depth of skin wrinkles; it works because it “puffs up” the skin. Meanwhile, Vitamin C greatly helps brighten up the skin and helps increase collagen production, which reduces wrinkles, and other lines. Retinoids are chemicals that make skin produce new cells far more quickly. They can also be found in skin creams although they do not do much good after about six months. AHAs help kill off old cells more quickly, allowing new, younger cells to take their place.
